After discovering India Bazaar, it will definitely be one of my places to go for grocery shopping for fresh fruits and vegetables. Especially, those international fruits & vegetables you can't kind in regular grocery stores. I was pleased with their prices and from the looks of it, they might have the lowest prices on produce compared to other stores. When I cook certain ethnic foods, I like using different special spices and it seems like I might just have found the place. [Normally, I drive to Atlanta & visit their intentional market.] I still prefer the International Market in Atlanta since it has a whole lot to offer but I am glad to have found an ethnic store in Chattanooga that can accommodate my needs. I love some Indian goods like sweets, yogurt, paratha/naan (flatbread) etc. It was great to find those. So, if you're looking for other best quality vegetables, fruits and lowest prices, I recommend you checkout India Bazaar. Customer service, I was pleased. The two cashier's were helpful, kind and pleasant to talk to.
If you seek international produce that the local grocery stores don't provide, or if you are on a really tight budget this shop is the spot. I love this place especially when I'm doing a raw vegan cleanse. They have fresh Jackfruit, mangoes and sweetsop when it's in season as well as other fresh tropical produce that I usually can not get unless I'm in the caribbean. When they have a special quick sale section then things are becoming ripe but have not gone bad yet. I have many times gone and bought 2 bags of fresh produce for the less fortunate and paid under 10 dollars. Of course it's owned by people from India, so you can get all your spices and things to cook for their cuisine. I love the bulk purchases you can make there, especially Jasmine or Basmatti rice. This store is totally a diamond in the rough. It can be a bit crowded and busy depending on the time of day. It's very easy to drive but and pass it since it is tucked away from the main road.
